The Granite Tors Trail is a great backpacking hike in the interior of Alaska, only about 45 miles outside of Fairbanks, Alaska. The trail is steep, and about 15 miles long, making for an excellent overnight trip, or a foot-pounding day hike. It can be hiked late spring-early fall and snowshoed or skied in winter or early spring, although winter route-finding skills are often necessary.
