The Castner Glacier has become a very popular hike in the Eastern Alaska Range due to the proximity of a glacier cave at the terminus to the Richardson Highway. It's only about a mile walk to the terminus from the road. The glacier continues another 7 miles up the valley until it branches into north and south directions. The Castner Glacier is frequently used to access popular ski mountaineering peaks like Triangle Peak and White Princess. Find hiking details on my page: Castner Glacier – Hiking Guide.
