Morning Light
Cold Dinner
Not dinner itself, but the katabatic winds coming down the glacier.
Camp
Getting ready to head out and explore for the day.
Slushy stream forming
I'm fairly certain there was a moulin here. There was a lot of water flowing in from this stream, but it stopped and I couldn't hear anything under the snowpack below.
Stream in the snow
Supraglacial stream through the snow on College Glacier.
Down in the water
Glacial stream through the snowpack on College Glacier.
Stream inspection
Cat checking out the water in a newly opened channel on College Glacier
Icefall Peak
Looking up a newly opened stream on College Glacier.
Channel appearing
A supraglacial stream channel quickly melting out of the snow on College Glacier - Looking up at Peak 8100. This is a perfect example of why you don't want to walk on snowy patches when the snow is isothermal and melting out on a glacier.
Hidden Streams
A supraglacial stream remains hidden under snowpack on the College Glacier in the Eastern Alaska Range.
