Starting the Hike
Heading out to College Glacier, skipping the bridge and hiking up College Creek instead.
Looking at Shiny Rocks
Lots of cool rocks in College Creek.

Hiking Upstream
College Creek in the Alaska Range
Between a rock and a wet place
College Creek blocks the way. We turned up into some alpine tundra that was also nice hiking.
Mountain Avens
Steep terrain
This was a pretty steep way up. Lost our footing a few times. Luckily we found a slightly shallower grade for the descent.
At the top
Cat realizes that we are about to be hiking through a meadow full of alpine flowers.
Viewed on our detour to a small ridge above.
Cat
Pleasant walking in alpine meadows.

A lot of snow-melt streams to hop over.
Cascades
Near College Creek - Eastern Alaska Range
Looking over a glacier remnant, a bit of debris-covered ice about a mile away from the glacier toe.
Hidden Valley
A little creek runs between old debris covered ice and the mountain slopes. I was surprised to find there was still ice beneath the rock this far away from the glacier.
Stony Stream
Above College Creek, between some debris-covered dead ice and the mountain slopes.
