My tent
That's where I slept for the majority of the two weeks
McGinnis Peak
McGinnis Peak in the Alaska Range after a June snowfall. This was taken from the medial moraine where we were camped for two weeks this summer. The weather was rarely pleasant and this was one of the few breaks we had from the nearly constant rain and snow. Although, it's moments like this that make it all worth it.
Me
Walking around after the previous day's snowfall started melting.
Light on McGinnis Peak
McGinnis Peak gets some afternoon light while we sit under the clouds on a medial moraine. I've spent over 30 nights at this spot and would happily spend 30 more. From the Black Rapids Glacier in the Eastern Alaska Range.
Southern View
From our campsite on the Black Rapids Glacier.
Mountains, glaciers, and moraines
Evening light hits peaks in the Alaska Range on the Black Rapids Glacier.
Just Another
Just another peak in the Alaska Range. Beautiful evening light, but unfortunately it was one storm after another. We get a little bit of blue sky for an afternoon and then the clouds move in over the mountains to the south.
June - Sometimes I just enjoy being in the mountains.
Alaska Range Panorama
McGinnis Peak is on the right - Mt. Moffit is the little bright blob on the left barely poking above the ridge. This was taken the day after we got 8-10 inches of snow (in June!). It was such a pleasant sight to have a bit of blue sky show through the clouds!
