There was a construction stop right by the airstrip since they were moving and re-building a huge stretch of the highway.
A few minutes after the first load went in with the supercub three A-10's screamed into the valley after them (at about the same elevation). While walking across the glacier later in the day they came back down the other way, close enough to the ice I could see their helmets.
