The aurora came out early . . . really early. Shortly after sunset the aurora lit up the twilight sky. Kate and I went for a drive out to the Goldstream Valley and up Murphy Dome. There was an incident. Read about the night here.
The aurora was very active on the horizon to the northeast. I almost missed that the entire sky above me was pulsating, with color! This was display was filling the sky; you can see the constellation Orion bottom center, and the Pleiades cluster up and right.
