Living in the interior of Alaska has some trade-offs. On the one hand, the winter is long, cold with sometimes long stretches of 40 below zero, and dark (only about 3 hours of daylight around the winter solstice). On the other hand, sometimes you walk out your front door and see things like this (literally from the front door).
